Kiki Kallira is more of a worrier than a warrior – but today she will learn to be a hero. The mythical beasts she loves to draw have come to life, and she is the only one who can defeat them. A middle-grade fantasy inspired by Hindu legends about anxiety, creativity and finding your own strengths. For 8+ fans of Abi Elphistone and The Land of Roar.

This is a fantastic book about a girl who loves drawing and she drew a whole kingdom which she got transported into. She then has to defeat an evil demon called Mahishasura( an evil Indian demon).
I love the inclusion of Indian folklore. a great story.
Thank You Sangu Mandanna
I liked Ashwini
A wonderful book rich on Hindu mythology but with enough of an introduction that someone unfamiliar can follow along.
Kiki is a brilliant character with a very realistic problem; her anxiety. The book explores the idea of something that’d once been safe suddenly not being so anymore, and tangled with the dawning reality of what it means to have to face your fears.
My favourite character in this one was Lej, whose grumpy persona makes him a wonder to listen to,
