Join the P G Wodehouse Reading Group Project


What ho! The Reading Agency, in partnership with Arrow Books, are offering 10 reading groups the chance to discover the comic genius of P.G. Wodehouse. Following the success of the recent BBC adaptation of Blandings and the much anticipated Jeeves and the Wedding Bells by Sebastian Faulks in November, Cornerstone have reissued 8 of Wodehouse’s classic novels in an exciting new livery to celebrate this treasured author.

Get involved

We’re searching for 10 enthusiastic reading groups to spend September 2013 to January 2014 reading four P G Wodehouse titles. Your group will read Jeeves and Blandings classics as well as some hidden gems! Groups will have the opportunity to review and blog on Reading Groups for Everyone about the books and your group’s experience. The lucky groups will receive 10 free copies of each book they read as well as a reading guide and other materials to add to the fun! (see extras below)

About the author

The author of almost a hundred books and the creator of Jeeves, Blandings Castle, Psmith, Ukridge, Uncle Fred and Mr Mulliner, P.G. Wodehouse was born in 1881 and educated at Dulwich College. After two years with the Hong Kong and Shanghai Bank he became a full-time writer, contributing to a variety of periodicals. As well as his novels and short stories, he wrote lyrics for musical comedies, and at one stage had five shows running simultaneously on Broadway. At the age of 93, in the New Year’s Honours List of 1975, he received a long-overdue Knighthood, only to die on St Valentine’s Day some 45 days later.
