Fiction Uncovered, the promotion which annually celebrates eight of Britain’s best contemporary fiction writers, is going to be launching a summer 2012 pop-up bookshop on The Book Barge.
The eight titles will be announced on 23 May 2012 and during the summer of 2012 the Fiction Uncovered/Book Barge shop will be popping up at waterfront locations in Leeds, Manchester and Oxford selling all the titles selected for this year’s Fiction Uncovered promotion as well as titles from the 2011 selection.

Authors selected for the Fiction Uncovered promotion this summer will be invited to read at special events and signings on The Book Barge and at other festivals and events around the UK. The floating store is based on a converted 57’ narrowboat and is normally moored near Lichfield, Staffordshire. Confirmed Book Barge dates include:
* 1st July 2012 – Granary Wharf, Leeds
* 14th July 2012 – Castlefield, Manchester
* 15th September 2012 – Isis Lock, Oxford
The eight titles for the second annual Fiction Uncovered promotion will be selected by a judging panel chaired by John Sutherland the Lord Northcliffe emeritus Professor of Modern English Literature at UCL. The 2012 judging panel includes Katy Guest (Literary Editor, The Independent on Sunday), Jasper Sutcliffe (Head of Buying, Foyles Group) and the writer Matt Thorne.
