Chatterbooks April Roadshow

Chippenham Chatterbooks is a reading group for children who love reading, and children who aren’t sure whether they like reading at all! The group of 8 to 11 year-olds has a mix of different and meet once a month in the library on a Saturday morning. They help decide on all the themes and activities, which include a mixture of reading, games and making things to show in the library.

On 11 April Chippenham Chatterbooks are joining four other groups from the South West – Bristol, Bath and South Gloucestershire – for the exciting new Chatterbooks Roadshow. There’s a packed day of meeting authors, drawing and acting, with a magician and face-painting to add extra razzmatazz. The authors are Steve Voake, Elen Caldecott and Tamsyn Murray, with local illustrator Kat Whelan and a special guest appearance from Jeremy Strong. It’s a fantastic opportunity for children, who wouldn’t normally get the chance, to meet and talk to children’s book creators.

The event at the Mission Theatre, Bath, is run in partnership with Bath and North East Somerset Libraries, with funding from the Arts Council Arts Nation programme, as part of The Reading Agency/Waterstone’s pilot partnership project.
