Celebrating National Reading Group Day with a search for the reading group 'hidden gem'

To celebrate National Reading Group Day on 28 June 2014, The Reading Agency is launching a hunt for the nation’s favourite ‘hidden gem’ reading group read.

We have asked the publishers who are part of The Reading Agency’s partnership scheme to nominate recent books which they feel didn’t get the recognition they deserved, but which would make great reading group reads.

We will post the responses we get on Reading Groups for Everyone and invite reading groups to vote for the National Reading Group Day 2014 Hidden Gem on 28 May, one month before National Reading Group Day.

One the same day we will also invite reading groups to apply to read the eventual winner and share their experiences, thoughts and reviews on this site.

We will announce the National Reading Group Day 2014 Hidden Gem and the six reading groups selected to read and review the winning title on 28 June, which is National Reading Group Day.

How to get involved

Check back with Reading Groups for Everyone on 28 May to find the list of nominated National Reading Group Day Hidden Gems when you will be able to vote and apply to be one of the six groups that review the winning title.

Follow the National Reading Group Day conversation on social media under #NRGD2014.
