Soul Stop Cafe Book Group

adults

Meets at Soul Stop Cafe on

Run by Josephine Cheroomi Library service

Soul Stop is a family run cafe which has been part of George Lane in South Woodford for over a decade. We decided to start a book group after we got chatting to some customers about books they had read, and it turned into a full blown discussion! That was 3 years ago and we\'ve never looked back. We like to think that as well as sharing opinions and having a laugh, our members may come away having learnt something new about literature. We read everything from gothic literature to bestsellers (we try and keep the books varied from month to month) ensuring that people always read something they may not have read otherwise. We also organise days out, ususally to places that fit in with a particular book or era we have been looking at in meetings. These have included private literary London walking tour, a trip to Horace Walpole\'s Strawberry Hill House and we are currently planing a tour of Highgate Cemetary. We pride ourselves on making sure the group is always fun and never becomes a chore to attend, so even if people haven\'t finished- or even read the book - we encourage them to pop along anyway for a coffee and a listen. We work in partnership with The Village Bookshop in Woodford and we always encourage people to buy their books there as a way of supporting our local businesses. The shop gives our members 10% off all book club books and also advertises our meetings on its website: www.thevillagebookshop.co.uk For more information or to be added to our mailing list, please go to our website: www.soulstopcafe.com There you will find dates of upcoming meetings and also information on what books we will be looking at. For any other questions about the book group please send your enquiry via our \'contact us\' page.

We meet at: 154 George Lane, Redbridge, London, E18 1AY
