How well do you know your lover? The art of marriage truly is the art of war in the new novel from the CWA award-winning author of Sharp Objects and Dark Places.

5 stars - I was already aware of the plot from watching the film, but i much preferred the book! I really liked how the narrative flicked between both Nick and Amy and how Nick is always trying to play catch up.
The way everything clicks together and you find yourself flicking the pages backwards as everything makes sense and comes to fruition really made it for me.
Amy was such an interesting character as in the first half of the book I found myself really liking her and thinking that Nick was an idiot, perhaps Amy is just very misunderstood? But as the narrative unfolds, you find that Amy is deeply disturbed by the events that have shaped her life. Even though Nick sounds like an extremely useless husband, the author tries to encapsulate how they are perfect for eachother (in their own weird and toxic way)
A real thriller that is a page turner for sure!
its was amaizing. id definetely reccomened this
This book took a turn quite quickly which kept me gripped the whole time. What you read at the beginning is not actually the reality of what truly goes on, you find this out nearer the end. This book made me realise that anyone can create a "fake" life and personality. At first you really feel for Amy and what her fella had done, but in fact Amy turns out to be a right psycho that plans a fake abduction to get revenge on her fella for cheating. I recommend this to all. It's also out in a film.
i liked the main characters they interested me as you could not always decide how much you liked or disliked them.
it was a quick read and I need that sometimes as very busy
I recommended it to others
Slow start, then got hooked, needed to know what happened, at the end I just didn't care.
Would I recommend, possibly.
Very tense book! Could not put it down. Very interesting and believable characters and had no idea how it would end from start to finish.
Slow to start but glad i stuck with it. Twists and turns in every chapter.
Would recommend this to anyone that likes a thriller.
