You’re thirteen. All you want is a normal life. But most normal kids don’t need heart transplants. So there’s this doctor. He says there’s a chance for you. But he also says it’s experimental, controversial and risky. And it’s never been done before.

An absolutely amazing book! A book I think everyone needs to read in their lifetime! Adore Malorie Blackman’s writing and there were many times I was shocked by the events in this story. I nearly cried at the end!

Really enjoyed this book. Really liked the main character and found the 1st person writing made it easy to relate to him and understand how he was feeling. Also really liked the character Nan, she was kind and understanding and a good listener. I would recommend this book to others and think it would open up interesting discussions with older primary school readers.

I thought the story was factual but it's fiction and it's an inspiring story and I would most probably recommend this book. My favourite character was most likely Cameron himself because he got a hope to live but then he got the bad news and then he realises hoe important life is and that you should live it to the fullest.

I thought it was a really good book because it uses words that are sophisticated and interesting.
I liked Cameron Kelsey (The pig heart boy) because he makes me feel as if I am in, that same thing he is going through.
I'd recommend it to people older because some bits are a little bit inappropiate

Fantastic book. Quite emotional at times. I liked how the author tackled issues of friendship, betrayal and hope.

I didn't want this book to end. I love how the ending is left to the reader to imagine and conjure their own thoughts. Told from the brave perspective of Cameron who has some exceptionally difficult choices to make. Explores relationships between families and friends. Will recommend to students.

I quite liked this book as it was interesting to read about something I had never read before. It is about a boy whose only hope of survival was a pig's heart, because his heart is failing. He becomes the first person ever to have an animal's heart inside his body, so he quickly becomes famous. I didn't really like when he teased Julie about "piggy germs" because I thought that was a bit mean.

this shines a light on people's courage and determination throught difficult times like the lockdown

A really intriguing read with a brave young man at the heart of it. Cam engaged with me from the start and gave me a good, emotional read that I would highly recommend.

The title and front cover appear very raw but these definitely reflect the story. The idea of using a pig heart in a child's body would once have seemed impossible, but as time progresses, this unlikely transplant may possibly become quite normal.
The relationship between Cameron and his friends, is one that allows conversation in School between young people. Similarly the situation that Cameron and his family find themselves in is a scenario for discussion.
I have re-read the book and still wonder of the outcome for Cameron as this is very cleverly left open.
I have shared the book with a young person who was not a reader.....it was the only story so far, that he wanted me to keep reading.and for this reason, I totally recommend the book to others.

I waited for this book for a long time and it was worth it. This book is so interesting and there are lots of surprises such as baby Alex. Some bits are very sad though. (I won't mention them because that would be a spoiler.)

This book was absolutely amazing. I can't believe how things changed throughout the story. It was really factual: I loved it! It had such an interesting storyline, with a thrilling climax. It kept me on the edge of my seat throughout the whole story. My favourite character was Marlon, as he supported Cameron and saved his life. I would definitely recommend this to anyone, any age group, it was amazing.
