Good quick read
Four lovely short stories. Each story had a brief introduction which was a really nice prelude. I started with the Egyptian mystery, which did well to create an atmosphere of heat and dust endured by Poirot. I really enjoyed the tale of a missing banker, which kept me guessing for ages and whose riddle was eloquently unraveled in just a few lines towards the end. The other two stories were really enjoyable also, with good character description and the usual suspense before the penny drops at the revelation of 'Whodunit'.
I haven’t read many books and was very reluctant as a child to pick one up. I wanted to get involved in reading, so I visited my local library. The librarian recommended I try quick reads, as an easy introduction to books. This is my first and I enjoyed it very much. Poirot, is definitely a very clever character and makes you curious to his train of thought. I felt my reading gaining pace with the rhythm of his thoughts. A really great character, who I feel I will follow into other books.
