Part slow-burning psychological thriller, part political social commentary on modern Paris this is a delicately written book (trans Sam Taylor) with a tense edge. I was sometimes carried along with the story and sometimes, when it felt unrealistic, frustrated and fed up with it. The social commentary is great but for the rest I felt I was being manipulated into feeling something by having various buttons pressed. Overall, however, not a bad read
