This was a great chick lit read. Our reading group as a whole loved it! The book was easy to read and the story kept you engaged until the end.

Great read - this is the first book I've read by Jane Fallon and I really enjoyed it. Well written with likeable main character. Some good twists and turns made it hard to put down.

A very enjoyable read, if a slightly implausible premise. Nearly all of the group liked it, with a few notable exceptions.

This book is about the ultimate revenge – that of a wife (Paula) who has discovered her husband is cheating on her. It is set in the world of TV soap opera so there are plenty of drama queens and egotistic actors who think they are God’s gift, all of whom are portrayed well and are believable. It is written primarily from the point of view of Paula who, for some reason, I imagined to be very much like Dawn French – she has a great sense of humour, is very down to earth and has put on a lot of weight. She is a character who I liked, and that always helps when you read a book – I wanted her to have a happy ending. Whether that is what actually happens is not for me to divulge. The main complaint from a few of the group was that some of the scenes just dragged on a bit too long at times.

This book is pure chick-lit and a very easy read, but none the worse for that. It is also a good page-turner and has plenty of twists and turns. It is probably slightly implausible but who cares. It would be a good holiday read, or equally suitable for any other time when you just want to take a break from reality and relax into a good book.
