By Fiona Melrose
A heartbreaking story about a farming family, set between Suffolk and Zambia. Midwinter is a story of grief, forgiveness and family love. Longlisted for the Baileys Prize for Fiction 2017Tweet
What a sad, sad book, so exquisitely and tenderly written. The father and son each have their own voice, uniquely different from each other, and other characters are just as finely drawn. It's about love and loss, families, friendships and farming, grief and guilt and is just beautiful.
