We read this with great enthusiasm because like many book groups, we read fiction most of the time and this was a great change. In the end we found it a bit of a marmite book; some of us loved it, some of us were not so keen. We all enjoyed the highly informative nature of the book and realise the research needed to produce such a volume must have been thorough. One member in particular is a retired pharmacist and so he was right at home and enjoyed it cover to cover! Some of us though, found it a wee bit repetitive. I described it as 'dry' and a couple of others nodded their heads. One or two members (myself included) were grateful for the glossary! It did make for a lively discussion and overall we're glad to have read it. With this in mind we would recommend it for book groups.
