It’s gripping, well-written, with super twists and wonderful descriptions of the terrain. I learnt much about bees, an unexpected pleasure, as well. I found it very difficult to put it down, and it has definitely stayed with me."

"I really enjoyed the first part and was galloping through it and then there is an incident between two characters and these jarred with me and after that I was put of the book. It is not that I can’t read violence it was just the incident seemed a clunky plot devise and switched the book for me! The environmental premise is really interesting and the science engrossing but the incident above colours my view. As ever Peter May sells the Scottish scenery beautifully as is his input about bees."
