Mildred Hubble, positively the Worst Witch at Miss Cackle’s Academy for Witches is back in another very funny adventure.
In The Worst Witch and the Wishing Star, Mildred makes a wish on a shooting star – and to her great surprise it comes true! But it also spells trouble. Mildred’s wish-come-true is a small dog but she has to keep him a secret from her friends, and especially the formidable Miss Hardbroom. It’s a disaster waiting to happen…and it does…!
The Worst Witch and the Wishing Star launches a stunning new cover look and an appealing squarer format across the whole of the Worst Witch series which includes The Worst Witch; The Worst Witch Strikes Again; A Bad Spell for the Worst Witch; The Worst Witch all at Sea; The Worst Witch Saves the Day and The Worst Witch to the Rescue.
Jill Murphy was born in London in 1949. From a very early age she was drawing and writing stories, and was already putting books together (literally, with a stapler) by the time she was six. She went on to study at Chelsea, Croydon and Camberwell Schools of Art. Jill worked in a children’s home for four years and as a nanny for a year, before becoming a freelance writer and illustrator. The Worst Witch stories, of which this is the seventh, are some of Puffin’s most successful titles.

It was fiction,I liked Mildred ,because I like these books, I would recommend it to anyone who is interested in funny and weird books.
I like all the funny things that Star dose. It's so amazing when Mildred and Star win an indoor swimming pool. Miss Hardbroom and Mildred both made a wish on the wishing and they both came true Mildred got a dog and Miss Hardboom and the school won the pool!
I like it a lot. My favourite person is Mildred’s dog, star. I would recommend it to people who have read Harry Potter even though they don’t have wands in the series.
Realise that my favourite character is definitely going to be in Ed. She is so popular and fancy and she’s just always it picked on and how she landed in the puddle and his heart and soul and I really like that mystery with a teacher. I love the sports teacher and it was really weird that they had. They just ended the chapter with her OK the first one that gets a caramel chocolate.
This is my favourite book from the worst witch series. My favourite part was when Mildred Hubble rescued the three animals. My favourite character was Star because he is very acrobatic.

I liked it because of the dog called Star who was friendly and likes to bark. The wishing star came on Miss Hardbroom’s birthday and it reminded me of my birthday when I made a wish.
