Life and Fate on BBC Radio 4

We are working with Radio 4 to bring reading groups news of broadcasts that can support reading group activity.

In September Radio 4 is giving over a whole week to feature Life and Fate by Vasily Grossman which will take over every drama slot. Running from 18 to 25 September and featuring Kenneth Branagh and David Tennant to tell the story of a Russian family during the Battle of Stalingrad, one of the bloodiest in history and of course a turning point in World War II – a great book for your reading group to discuss.

If you are reading the novel or want to follow the series there is a website with background information, an article by Andrew Marr and interview with Kenneth Branagh on how he has brought his character to life. Plus you can download all 13 episodes as podcasts – available for seven days after broadcast.

If you do take part and read Life and Fate then we would love to have your reviews. Send them into us using the Contact button and we will publish the best of them on the site.
