Become a Bookgiver or Pick-up Point for World Book Night 2012

This year’s World Book Night will take place on 23 April 2012. The "titles ":http://www.worldbooknight.org/about-world-book-night/wbn-2012/the-books have been released and it’s time to think start thinking about how you, members of your reading group or your library can get involved.

Applying to be a bookgiver

If you think you could commit to giving books away in your area, why not apply to be a bookgiver? 20,000 volunteers across the country will be needed to give away 24 copies of their selected title, making 48,000 books in total being given away.

In order to be a bookgiver, you must be:

• Aged 16 or over and resident in the UK
• Able to collect 24 copies of your book from your local bookshop or library
• Committed to giving your books away on or around World Book Night to non or light readers

Givers will be chosen based on where, to whom and why they want to give books away.
Apply to be a World Book Night 2012 bookgiver here. The application deadline is Friday 30 December 2011.

Signing up as a pick-up point

We would also like to invite each library authority to register their libraries as pick-up points. As a pick-up point, your library will take deliveries of World Book Night books in advance of World Book Night so that bookgivers can collect their books from their local library.

If you would like to sign up as a pick-up point we would be grateful if you could fill out details of each library that you would like to nominate, including the address, opening hours and the maximum number of givers (each giver will receive 24 books) that each library pick-up point can accommodate. This is to ensure the smallest libraries aren’t overwhelmed.

Please complete this "form ":https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/QVB9F86 by Friday 30 December.

Please note that if you are entering details of multiple pick-up points, you will need to allow more time to complete the form. There is space to enter up to 20 pick-up points on the form; if you would like to add more than 20, please complete two forms.
