Shared Reading in Somerset

Through a national charity called The Reader, we run a series of shared reading sessions across the libraries in Somerset. We meet once a week and read aloud a short story and a poem, discussing them as we go. There's no homework - the reader leader brings the texts each week. For anyone who enjoys reading, or wants to discover more, it's a lovely relaxed way to meet up with a group of like minded people. While the libraries are closed, we have been running groups by email and on Zoom. It's completely free and open to everyone.
Virtual group
currently email and zoom, but when possible we will start the groups up again in libraries. We have groups in Bridgwater, Cheddar, Glastonbury, Taunton, Yeovil, Wells and Wincanton. In the meantime new applicants can be included in one of two email groups, and/or one Zoom group.
