Alvering Reading Group

We are a library based Reading Group that has been running for almost 12 years. We meet in the middle of the day - 12pm - for about an hour. Though we started small, we have grown and anything from 12 to 20 members will turn up (occasionally a few more). We are not academic, though we might sometimes discuss how the author has written , or comment on style, but our main interest is in finding what we enjoyed or disliked about the chosen title. Recommendations come from "the floor" and provided enough copies can be obtained through the library system will almost certainly be read. We try not to re-read an author and there is no requirement to turn up to every meeting. Inevitably we are mainly female - but we are not at all exclusive.
