I thought it was a really good book, I thought it was as it told you about how the children were evacuated into the country side away from war torn London. My favourite character was Zach as he was funny , flamboyant and a good friend. He was also very supportive towards his best friend Will. In conclusion I would recommend this book to ages eight and over as there are a couple of deaths.

I would greatly recommend this book. It makes you feel a whole range of emotions: from happy to sad and nervous to excited. The book is based during World War 2 and is about a little boy named Willie who gets sent to the countryside as an evacuee and put with Mister Tom. Gradually Mister Tom gets fond of Willie and Willie gets fond of him. When Willie gets sent back to London will they ever meet again?

I have loved reading this book because I found it heartwarming because the main character was learning to read and write. If I could be one of the characters I would be Mister Tom because he is nice and adopts William in the end.I would recommend this book to anyone who loves heartwarming stories and is ok with a bit of sadness.

Goodnight Mister Tom is a great book if you like war but also if you like an emotional story as well. For ages 9 plus.

I first was read this book in school with my teacher. I did not really understand what was happening but I eventually understood. I was searching Michelle's books for ages but could never find them, untill I found, again, Goodnight Mister Tom. As of several rereads I have discovered how words can change a point of view wildly but also state something that is important to the author. The grammar helped me in SATS last year and made my life so much easier in top set English. Love it.

I thing you should read this book because it tells you about the life in wars and how hard it is to stay away from family. It also tells you about the way people be nice and kind to you. Eventhough this book is a very emotional sort of book I would recommend it to everyone above the age of 10
