Enjoyed this trilogy, a direct follow-on from The Balkan Trilogy but with more action. It continues Harriet and Guy's story with a close examination of new their marriage and all its difficulties and we also see some WW2 action as we follow soldier Simon into battle and beyond. Beautifully written and an interesting perspective for a war book: posh Brits living overseas in relative comfort and with nothing much to do.
