'The Fool's Girl' plays with the idea of what if some of Shakespeare's plays were inspired by real events. In particular, it takes 'Twelfth Night' and asks what might have happened after the play was done, the two couples are wed - what then?
The story of that is told in stages, primarily by Violetta, daughter of Viola and Duke Orsino, but also by the clown Feste. He and Violetta have come to Elizabethan England in seek of a relic stolen from Illyria by Malvolio as part of his revenge for the cruel tricks played on him. Violetta and Feste seek the help of one William Shakespeare and so starts an adventure that weaves together elements of 'Hamlet', 'Midsummer Night's Dream', 'Romeo and Juliet' and 'As You Like It'.
The story is a little slow in places. They could have edited out some of the travelling and expanded upon the action at the end. However, it was a pleasantly entertaining story overall.
