April Wood has returned home from her adventure on Bear Island. But, over a year later, she can’t stop thinking about Bear. When April hears that a polar bear has been shot and injured in Svalbard, she’s convinced it’s her friend and persuades her dad to travel with her to the northernmost reaches of the Arctic. So begins an unforgettable journey across frozen tundra and icy glaciers. But along the way, she discovers much more than she bargained for – a tiny polar bear cub, desperately in need of her help. In freezing temperatures, April must navigate the dangerous Arctic terrain and face her deepest fears if she’s to save him. Beautifully illustrated by Levi Pinfold, Finding Bear is a stunning story of survival and a heartwarming tale of love that shows us how hope is born from the smallest of beginnings. ‘A beautifully written and illustrated story of determination, courage and hope’ The Sun ‘Magically inspiring’ Daily Mail

Amazing!!

After absolutely falling in love with the first book "The Last Bear", I was hesitant to read the sequel. However, I loved it just as much. The characters are surprisingly believable (considering it's about a girl being friends with a polar bear) and I think these are books that should be shared with every class. They teach the importance of caring for our environment and the consequences of our actions on wildlife should we not. Incredibly beautiful book (story and the gorgeous illustrations by Levi Pinfold!)

I really liked it because I am a big fan of Hannah Gold’s the last bear and the lost whale, so it was really nice to read the second part of the story. I really liked Peanut the bear cub!

A beautiful sequel to The Last Bear that develops the story and friendship of April and Bear. This time she returns to Svalbard to help Bear and his cub who are in peril. A wild adventure ensues and there is a lovely ending to the story that shows the character development of both April and her father. Another firm favourite of mine

Finding Bear is the second book after the last bear.
I really love both of the books and if you like animals, then read them both!
Finding bear is about a girl, April, (who in the last book saved a polar bear.) and how though she saved Bear, she still misses him. Then she gets news that a polar bear got shot! And it might even be bear!
And off she goes on a big adventure back to the Artic, there she must find bear, and if that isn't hard enough she must also save a cub called Peanut.
I don't want to spoil too much, so I won't add more.
But read this book it is great!
Come and join April, Bear and Peanut on their great adventure though the Artic. Helped by new friends and old.
Read this book!

Often the sequel to a book doesn't live up to the first one but this one did. Lovely story, believable characters and great for raising awareness of environmental issues with the younger generation. Highly recommend.

We return to Svalbard for this stunning follow up to The Last Bear and what a return it is! Filled with adventure, fiery determination and beautiful descriptions, it will have readers spellbound by the awe-inspiring Arctic landscape. We meet familiar characters again - April, Tor, Dad and of course, Bear himself. But there are new characters too - Maria, Hedda and Peanut. This time, April hears news that a polar bear has been shot and she is determined to return to the Arctic to check on Bear. But will she find him? And will he remember her? It soon becomes clear that this is a journey not only to save Bear but a vulnerable cub too. From the moment April Wood returns to Svalbard, we are on this journey with her, experiencing every sled ride, the Northern Lights and even an Arctic storm. We experience her joy at being reunited with Bear but also her desperation and ultimate determination to fight things much bigger. April Wood will inspire children everywhere - she is ‘a true soul of the Arctic’.

Oh wow! Bear is back! (with a sidekick), April is back!

April gets a message from Tor about a polar bear being shot whilst in the port - roaring at the sea. She knows it's Bear, she knows he needs her help....she persuades Dad to travel back to Svalbard. But how will they find him.
A series of incidents ends with alice in a trackers cabin on her own....until Bear arrives. He wants her to ride him. But where does he take her and why? and how can she help? Tor arrives and agrees to help, then when Tor has to turn back Alice continues alone...until help arrives from an exepected person.
Utterly beautiful and just love the ending!

I loved this story . It is about hope and to remember to never lose hope . When April hears that a bear has been shot she instantly thinks it is Bear. Bear is the name of her friend who is a bear . She pleads her father to go back to Svalbard and eventually he says yes . they go with Aprils friend ,Tor and also a very experienced navigator called Hedda . when a storm comes then they have to turn back but April gets blown away by it. All of a sudden she hears a mighty roar and sees that its Bear.
They reunite and then Bear crouches down and thats a sign he wants her to sit on his back .he leads her to a dark glacier . And there she finds some thing she least expected...
Bear Has A Baby.
