A thought-provoking and touching story of the bond between children and nature, from renowned storyteller and award-winning author Gill Lewis.

Izzy and Asha need a space to call their own, away from difficult families, the Skull brothers and the trouble they bring. But the derelict building site where they stake their claim already belongs to something else, a wilderness they never expected and an injured wolf that desperately needs their help. Can they reconnect to the wild and save the wolf? Or is their pack too weak to fight much stronger powers? A stunning tale of our lost connection to nature and the wild that hides in us all, from renowned storyteller Gill Lewis. Particularly suitable for struggling, reluctant or dyslexic readers aged 8+.

I thought it was an ok book. I liked what it was about but didn’t admire the ending. I liked how it was about a group of teenagers how found a wolf and really cared about it. I liked Izzy the main character how she was feeding and looking after the wolf. I love books about animals so that’s why I choose this one. If someone likes adventure and nature I would recommend it for you.

Yes I would definitely recommend it.
It took me into a world where I could imagine myself as one of the characters which I could kinda relate too. I love the book because I can imagine if bit of it, I imagine the old abandoned gasworks as the abandoned building in my estate and the in the book it describes the wolf’s golden eyes. I can just see it in my head the golden eyes looking into mine, it’s an amazing book I recommend it to children aged 6-12 because of the wording, because younger children might not understand but I think adults and children would adore this book:)))

I liked it when the wolf returned to the wild because he was free again. I didn't like it when he was captured.
My favourite character from the book was Jakub.
I would recommend the book to my friends.

An amazing book about reconnecting to the wild.

I thought it was an emotional book because there was happiness, sadness, worry and joy. i liked the character of the wolf because he was found in the abandoned gas works. Some children helped to make it better by taking the glass out of it's paw. The children kept feeding it after they'd practised their skateboarding tricks. It was sad when the wolf was taken away, but it was looked after then released into the wildlife park which was the old gas works. I would recommend it to other people.

I liked this book because it was exciting and adventurous.
I recommend this book to ages 9+

This was short and sweet, written for reluctant readers and particularly children with dyslexia. Each character was so well presented even in the short number of pages. I liked the female friendship set against the relationship between the two brothers and how reputation affected the way they were all perceived. My favourite characters were Connor and Jakob because they perfectly captured the wonder of the wild in children. I thought the wolf’s part of the tale could’ve been wrapped up more satisfyingly but I understood and felt everything the Wolf represented for Izzy. It made me feel nostalgic in 88 pages! Would recommend to lks2 boys who are reluctant readers especially as the themes of friendship are interwoven subtly with the boys’ love of skating.

It was an emotional book with unexpected turns

I liked the fact that the lead characters were female in this story. The London backdrop was authentic but I wasn’t convinced by the presence of a wolf!

I would recommend this to other readers especially people who care about animals

This book about two girls searching for their own space to practice their skateboard skills and discovering a wolfdog and a wildlife haven is an easy read and has lots of hooks to engage reluctant readers. The animal interest as well as skateboarding practice lead to the reconciling of some important personal relationships. Overall, the book is a good discussion starter and the idea of priorities in saving the environment is a wider theme worth exploring with students.

This book is honestly the best book I've ever read. This book is fiction and made me have loads of different thoughts and feelings. Run Wild is about a girl who loves to skateboard and finds a wounded wolf in a wasteland. This really made me think about wolves and what a brilliant creature they are!

I would recommend this book because it was easy to read.

The story was about these children who found a wolf in a gas works and found the wolf a new home.

If you're allowed animals, then it's the "Wolf" himself, but if not, then my favourite character is Izzy, the girl telling the story.
Yes, I'd recommend it, but it's a little too short for me.

They were all showing how to save wildlife.

It was a fictional book by Gill Lewis and it is about a few school children who go into a abandoned factory and find a wolf this wolf of half wolf half dog gets taken away and the children are very unhappy but in the end it all turns out well and the factory turns into a nature reserve and everyone is happy I would recommend this book to children who like adventures and sad and happy twist my age recommendation is to children turning into teens so around 11 and 12 .
