Read with Gloucester Book Club. A beautiful and powerfully written tale from Sebastian Barry set in the US American Indian and Civil Wars. Barry’s ability to transport the reader onto the field of battle is phenomenal. I felt like I was there, and at times it is brutal. This, contrasted with the gentle domestic life of Tom, John and Winona was just brilliantly executed. I loved it.
