My favrite character is Elsie Pickles.
Amazing and magical
Good, a little too much going on though.
It is a good book but I think it was a bit dull. If there had been a bit more action than it would have been a great book. I would recommend this book to people who like magical books.
It feels like you’re actually the witch.
This is a fantastic story which could be read by children age 9+. This story oozes magic from the moment you open it. Elsie is a curious and insightful heroine, who I am sure will delight and inspire any future magician in the making. Corbett the talking raven and Nuisance the dog are an amusing pair who aid Elsie in her endeavours, and the occasional mishap! I would definitely recommend this book, although light hearted and fun, it will encourage children to be more independent, as Elsie embarks on her adventure alone and successfully manages the witch's household for her. A must read for any magician in the making!
I LOVE the idea of witches and wizards an looking forward to find new
books like this!!
Great book! Loved it!
It was a great story that I really enjoyed reading
I like the witch because she loves making potions. This interested me because in the book there trying to make a love potion.
I loved this awesome fictional, and magical, book.
My favourite character was Magenta Sharp because she was very nice and she knew everything even if no one told her. She had a completely magical tower with books full of spells, just like books that were in Harry Potter.
I would recommend it to people who love fictional, magical, funny and hectic books.
I liked the witch the best! I’m glad I don’t live in the boring village! Good build up to the fun parts.
I liked this book because it's about a little girl called Elsie Pickles who gets taken on a magical adventure and finds herself caretaker of a witch's house. Whilst doing all of this she learns all kinds of magic including
helping Syphine Greenmantle who dresses like a wood sprite. I won't give any more away because you just have to read this book . My favourite character was Corbett the black bird because at first he seems really grumpy but in the end he helps Elsie out with her magic. I would recommend this book to someone who likes magic, adventures and fun.
I really like this book as it was entertaining. The story is about a girl who looks after a castle for a week. She learns how to do 3 spells, she makes friends and has adventures
My favourite character in the book was Magenta the Scarlet Witch.
I would recommend this book and I can’t wait to read the other books
It's all about witches and it's funny.
I really liked this book because it was about a girl named Elsie who would do anything to help her family. She was a hard- working, diligent girl who had wanted to be a caretaker for a witch called Magenta Sharp.Magenta had a magical tower, a talking raven and lots of books to read which was exactly what Elsie liked. When Elsie heard that she would get paid 21 gold pieces to take care of the witch’s belongings for a week, she realised how much her family needed the money and decided that she would take the job. I would recommend this book to anyone who likes magic.
This was an absolutely adorable read. I think I’ll always be drawn to children’s books about witches and magic - maybe because it was these stories I loved as a child. I devoured this story about Elsie Pickles ‘tower sitting’ for a week for the local witch and thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it. I’ve now ordered the next one in the series. All I can say is it was absolutely amazing!
I liked it because there was a girl called Elsie in the book that loved books and I love reading books too. Elsie helped a witch take care of her tower while the witch went to her sister’s house. A dog called Nuisance came too. In the tower there was a crow called Corbet and he helped Elsie look after the tower. Elsie leant how to make eggs fall from the sky, make frogs appear and how to make a storm in a teacup (with tea in it). Elsie made a love potion as well. It was for someone called Hank to fall in love with Sylphine.
Elsie had a bedroom that was mostly the colour blue. At the top of the tower there was a spelloscope if you pressed a red, magic button on the side and said someone’s name then you would see that person. I would recommend this book to children age 7-9.
Great book
This is a fiction book about a girl called Elsie Pickles who wants to be a witch.I enjoyed this book and would recommend it.
Elsie is asked to look after Magenta Sharp's home but strange things start to happen as the house seems to have a mind of it's own. Funny story that includes a talking raven and a very lively dog.
Some of the pictures are really funny. My favourite character is Elsie and she is very clever.
Loved the top 10 rules. Brilliant story
I like Elsie and the dancing shoes that magneta gave her in the end.
It’s a great book
It was so magical. Whenever I read it before bed I would then think about it before I went to sleep. I would definetly recommend this to friends.
Elsie goes to Crookfinger Forest to caretake the home of the local witch,Magenta Sharp.
This is a cheering book full to the brim with magic, talking crows and woodcutters.
I would recomend it to any young, eager reader who loves magic.
great book, just a bit too young for me.Everything I like in a book apart from it being too easy to read.
My favourite character is Elsie Pickles, as she is very kind and determined.
