Ivo fell for her. He fell for a girl he can’t get back. Now he’s hoping for something. While he waits he plays a game: He chooses a body part and tells us its link to the past he threw away. He tells us the story of how she found him, and how he lost her. But he doesn’t have long. And he still has one thing left to do…

'The A - Z of you and me' tells the story of Ivo looking back over his life whilst lying in a hospital bed, being looked after so tenderly by the lovely Sheila. He tells the story of his friends; the wild Mal and Becca and his sister Laura. These are ordinary people with frailties and faults. He also remembers Mia his love. James Hannah writes so beautifully that you can't help but be moved by the heart breakingly sad story of his life. Some things the author doesn't absolutely clarify which I liked as it gave a bit of an air of mystery. The book is very clever in the way it interweaves the present and the past.

A beautiful beautiful devastatingly sad book, fantastically well written.

I loved it and would recommend wholeheartedly.
