I wouldn't put this in the 'thriller' genre of crime fiction but it's a thoroughly enjoyable crime investigation involving Alex Kava's female FBI agent, Maggie O'Dell, and Ryder Creed, an ex-marine and search-and-rescue dog trainer. It's the first in a series featuring both these characters and I'm looking forward to tracking down more of these books. This was published in 2015 and the story centres around a Colombian drug cartel's drug smuggling and child trafficking operations in the USA. It's very readable and perfect for a few hours of escapism.
