One of a series of top-quality fiction for schools, this is a classic tale of smuggling and adventure, set on the Dorset coast and featuring John Trenchard and Mohunes.

This book was alright not really that much special!
I liked it because there was loads of adventure and action. Also,I liked the main characters , the boy and the man.
good
Bit scary. Didn’t like the main character very much
I liked this and found it interesting because there was a lot of smugglers where I live and the story is based in Dorset which is where I live.
My favourite part is when they escape from the turnkey
I like Grace
It was very well written but I wasn't keen on some of the violence. It did have a lovely ending and I liked the children of the main character.
not the best
A classic book for boys, which readily spills over into one very suitable for adults. A charming tale of derring do. Our book group loved it. One for keeping on the bookshelf and reading to grandchildren.
