29 October 2012 / 0 Comments
Join in the literary fun this November as the fourth Writeidea Festival 2012 (9 - 18 November) gets underway in Tower Hamlets. The East End's Festival of reading is going from strength to strength, offering readers the chance to listen to and meet authors at a great range of free events.
What's on offer
With events covering fiction, history, politics, poetry, identity and much more, at Writeidea you'll be able to see authors with a local connection to the East End sharing the stage with bestselling names such as Owen Jones and Patrick Gale.
For the first time, Writeidea is bringing a live theatre performance to the Festival: One Georgie Orwell. An original production that combines Orwell's own words with original music.
The Reading Agency's Chief Executive, Miranda McKearney, is guest speaking at the festival on Tuesday 13 November at 7pm. In a panel called 'Don't Forget the Reader' she'll be in conversation with Jane Davis (Director of The Reader Organisation) and Sam Leith (freelance writer), discussing the challenges and delights for readers in 2012 Great Britain.
