The Big Book Group Show

If you are in a reading group in the Brighton or Tunbridge Wells areas or are wondering about what it would be like to be part of one, then check out The Big Book Group show. With Booker 2011 shortlisted Carol Birch and Richard and Judy Autumn Read Araminta Hall, The Big Book Group aims to be a joyful celebration of literature and a coming together of people from all walks of life bonded by their love of books.

The evening is not only for the many thousands of existing book groups throughout the country but also for the many individuals who are interested in this cultural phenomenon. The evening promises to be fun, lively and informative.

Each night special guest authors will be invited to read extracts from their books and talk about their writing. The evenings will also include the special features, ‘A Rough Guide to Book Critiquing’, a literary quiz and ‘Hot Reads for Book Groups and their Families’. And also a fun Flash Fiction section where audiences shout out title and plot ideas and the star author, Carol Birch, rushes off back stage to write a special Big Book Group piece of fiction to be performed as a finale.
