The Graces
Everyone said the Graces were witches. They moved through the corridors like sleek fish, ripples in their wake. Stares followed their backs and their hair. They had friends, but they were just distractions. They were waiting for someone different.
All I had to do was show them that person was me.
Like everyone else in her town, River is obsessed with the Graces, attracted by their glamour and apparent ability to weave magic. Desperate to escape her own life, River determines to become a part of theirs.
But are the Graces really what they seem? And as the stakes get higher, are they more dangerous than they let on? And what about River herself?
This beautifully-written thriller will grip you from its very first page.
About the author
Laure Eve is a French-British hybrid who grew up in Cornwall, a place saturated with myth and fantasy. Being a child of two cultures taught her everything she needed to know about trying to fit in at the same time as trying to stand out.
A word from Laure
“My school librarian gave me Alan Garner and changed my life. It’s difficult to underplay the importance of a librarian’s influence on the next generation. Especially in places where books might be considered an unaffordable luxury, libraries give everyone equal access to literature that offers a vast multitude of worlds to explore and be shaped by.
So I’m honoured that The Reading Agency and the Radio 2 Book Club have picked The Graces as a book to champion. Thank you so very much!"
