BBC National Short Story Award

In its sixth year, the BBC National Short Story Award is one of the most prestigious for a single short story. Listeners can hear the shortlisted stories, and interviews with the authors, on BBC Radio 4. At 30 mins long, these readings of short stories will be a great focus assets for reading groups and libraries to collect and play.

Shortlist is announced on 9 September then from the 12 to 16 September the five shortlisted stories will be broadcast daily on BBC Radio 4, with downloads

The winner will be announced on 26 September.

* Readers will be able to listen to the stories for 14 days after broadcast.
* There will be blog posts about the stories and interviews with the authors on Front Row
* Readers will be able to download each of the five stories.
