Fiddlers Lane KS2 Book Club

children

Meets at Fiddlers Lane Community Primary School on

Run by Rachel Heffernan Library service

This is an extra-curricular book club which runs every Tuesday after school for KS2 pupils. The club aims to support pupils with their reading and literacy skills in a fun and engaging way. Since the club started in September 2013, we have had an overwhelming number of pupils join the club and it continues to be a great success. The club members do lots of exciting and interesting book-inspired work from creating their own poems to designing comic strips. At Christmas, they wrote their own stories and poems which they eventually made into a lovely festive booklet. At Halloween they imagined what it would be like to be a ghost and a ghostbuster, with the help of the Chatterbooks resources. To reward their excellent efforts with their work, members received a Chatterbooks pack. They thoroughly enjoy their goodies! This Spring half term, the club members are going to be busy writing book and character reviews, as well as designing and acting out their own plays.

We meet at: Fiddlers Lane, Irlam, Salford, Greater manchester, M44 6QE
