The Secret Garden

I read the book because I watched the film with my mum and she said the book is her favourite. I don’t like Colin he’s so rude and a brat but I love the garden

Fiction book but I enjoyed reading it. Lots of new words but the story was very interesting about the secret garden.

This was my favourite book of the summer

The Secret Garden is an old classic. Whilst reading this book it seemed as though I was in the shoes of the characters. The people that really stood out in the book was Martha and Dickon. Both are kind hearted and show love and compassion to everyone. Dickon is a very special boy because of his ability to speak to and look after animal but most of all is his ability to keep Mary Lennox's garden secret. I believe people who like reading old classics and enjoy kindness and hope as the moral will absolutely love this old novel.

It was very mysterious, I didn't expect Mary to become friends with the robin.

At first I had my doubts but secrets are heroes.

It's language was very different to modern speech

I really like the book ,the best character in the story i would choose is Isaiah and she was a really brave mouse that saved a lot of mice in the story.

Childhood classic revisited and reloved 😊

The book was really good and it had an interesting part of it where she finds the key bundled up in the earth . I would recommend it to anyone because it would be a nice book to anyone and it would help people to realise that life isn’t as bad as you think as young Mary find out.

Interesting book, very mysterious but a great read.

It is about a girl called Mary who has to leave India and come to the UK after her parents died. She is very miserable at first but then she discovers the Secret Garden and meets Colin and Dickon.

I recommend this book to anyone who loves secrets .

The secret garden is a lovely read, full of mystery and beauty. My favourite character is Dickon, he has a gift with animals and is really kind. My favourite part of the book is when Colin's father comes to the secret garden and sees him standing up and healthy. I would recommend this book for children 8 and over.

I like this book because it is interesting. I would recommend this book to people because you never know what’s going to happen next.

It was really interesting because it had the key of the Secret Garden buried under some bright green shrubs and how Mary, Dickon and Colin revived the garden. My favourite character is Mary. I recommend it to 7 plus.

It was a bit tricky to understand some of the words because of the Yorkshire words. I enjoyed the story otherwise

1. I think they shouldn't have thought that Colin would never be able to walk on his feet any more and take over his father's heritage .
2. It wasn't fiction but i liked the way Mary was confident and she also made Colin confident too!.

Nice story about the friendship and family

I liked this book because it was very interesting but the language in it was very old. I didn’t understand what they were always saying. They used a lot of Yorkshire slang but it was fun to try and do the accents.

The story is nice and it great to Mary Lennox grow throughout the story from a naughty unfriendly girl to something much nicer.

Best part of book is when she finds the garden n u don't know was gonna happen next.

I liked this book because I liked the garden. I liked Mary at the end because she was nice and I liked Dickon because he likes wildlife.

Its about a stook up girl who finds a secret garden and she becomes much nicer and much healthier girl and makes lots of friends

I really really enjoyed this book because I like books that are set in the past. I would recommend it to someone that likes books set in the past and likes gardening because it is all about gardening

Although it was hard to follow, I think this is a very enjoyable read. The Secret Garden is an amazing book with a captivating plot.

I loved all the characters, especially Dickon. He is kind, caring and helpful; it would be wonderful to meet someone like him.

This book is written in Old English, but I would still definitely recommend recommend it to readers my age.

I liked this book because I really like Yorkshire and the dialect was fun to listen to. It was a bit racist because it was so old.
