This was the first time I'd picked up this book, and I enjoyed it far more than I expected. I've got the second waiting to be read

“The Maze Runner” by James Dashner is told in third person, limited omniscient. The story is told from the view point of the story’s protagonist, Thomas. By using this point of view and perspective, the reader is privy to the thoughts, fears, emotions, and motivations of the protagonist. This perspective moves the story along and creates sympathy and understanding for the protagonist and gives the reader insight into the battles and challenges that he faces and his reaction to other characters. While others characters do not at times understand Thomas’ motivations, the reader is in sync with the protagonist and knows where he is coming from and where he is going.

I thought it was really good. Thomas finds himself in a lift and his memory is erased. He only remembers his first name. He finds himself around a group of kids. He becomes a runner, a runner is a person who finds a way out of the maze.A girl comes and thomas has a feeling that he knows her.

Because it's a really good book and a must for fans of the Hunger Games!! I would rate it at 10+ because there is swearing and scary 'scenes' if you are like me and feel the books come alive around you.

If you like The Hunger Games, you'll like this.

WARNING: If you like to read a book not knowing ANYTHING about it, do not read this. This will be like a blurb.

When Thomas wakes up with no memory of anything but his first name, he finds out he has been placed in a place called the Glade, with no adults or females, only boys ranging from pre-teen to young adult, who also have no memory. Every month, another boy is sent: Thomas is the new one, or the 'Greenbean'. Frypan cooks, Alby is the leader and the Runners go out and try and work out how to get out of the maze next to the Glade. The walls shut every night to protect the Gladers from Grievers, huge, slug-like creatures with spikes. But, when a girl is sent, life in the Glade turns upside-down. Can the Gladers get out of the Glade before it's too late?
